Reformation Day
Today we celebrate and remember the Protestant Reformation. In 1517, after rediscovering the Gospel by studying the Scriptures, Martin Luther posted 95 Theses for debate on the church door in Wittenberg, Germany. This kicked off a movement that examined the practices and confession of the church against the Word of God and led to major reforms in both doctrine and practice. This Reformation Sunday, we celebrate the rediscovery of the Gospel and a return to the Scriptures as the source and norm of Christian doctrine and practice.
